Teachers and Teaching Assistants were excited to participate in a fun workshop where they learned to make Stop Motion Movies; movies made out of a string of photos.
Teachers used two apps, Lego Movie and iMotion, which provide different options for students. We had a few Belkin Stages to hold the iPads, yet we also presented an option for those classrooms which do not have Stages: teachers used Kleenex boxes (found in every room) to hold the iPads in place. Tech Coaches provided small images so that teachers could create their own stop motion movies.
Student learning was the main focus of the activity and teachers brainstormed the many ways in which students can present their knowledge, creativity and learning through this type of media. They left excited to try stop motion movies for book review presentations, unit assessments, mathematical concepts, taking action, etc.
